The second half of the nineteenth century was an exceptionally successful period for the nadeniec of Wieluń. The city developed exceptionally quickly, which resulted in the establishment of a new poviat in 1887 with headquarters in Wieluń. The establishment of a new administrative unit has contributed to the construction of facilities for its officials. They were located in the part of Wieluń called Ostrów. Among the newly erected administration buildings in Wieluń was Distrikt Amt (equivalent to the district office) at today's Chopina Street 7. It is a spacious villa with two stone floors and a third, half-timbered, constructed by the half-timbered method. A small park surrounds the building. Currently, the building houses a medical clinic.
