Extremely picturesque place is located at the top of a gentle, up-hill rise of the Roztocze edge zone, known in the area of ​​Kątecka Góra (around 270 m above sea level). Two marked bicycle routes - Czarna Perła and Jastrzębia Zdebrz - run through the hill next to the figure, so it's easy to find this place. The local tradition gives an interesting story related to the cross set here. Apparently the heir from the nearby palace in Kąty, a powerful gentleman, seduced a simple girl who gave birth to a dead child, a monster who was buried without a baptism under a figure standing on top. In this place, it was supposedly haunted, and finally a thunderbolt from the sky crashed the figure and silenced the ghost. According to another version, the opposite was true, the cross was placed on the place where the bastard was buried to silence the cursed soul. The legend is a legend, and the fact of lightning being destroyed by a thunderbolt is probably probable, that it stands in a prominent place at the top of an unseen hill. Kątecka Góra is also a geologically interesting object - it is a kind of headland that almost circles around the Roza River, the Biała Łada River, creating a breakthrough through tertiary works.
