A very important place for Sądeczan and not only.

Incredibly quiet and peaceful place (although located in the city center). A place where time has stopped and the words "memento mori" sound somehow timely. You cannot walk through its alleys without reflecting on the meaning of life and passing. Not much of the former 19th-century tombstones has survived. Some of the existing ones have undergone conservation. Work on securing others is in progress. The part of the cemetery from the side of Aleja Wolności was designated after 1945 as the Cemetery of the Meritorious. It is the place where the ashes of the countrymen shot in Nowy Sącz and the surrounding area are buried. After 1945, in the common grave at this cemetery, the heroes' remains, exhumed from execution sites: in Nowy Sącz, Biegonice, Olszana, Rdziostów, Młodów, Męcina, Kłodny. On October 3, 1954, a monument-mausoleum "Pieta Sądecka" was unveiled here - the mother mourning the death of innocently murdered - erected in honor and eternal memory of the victims of Nazi terror. The author of the sculpture is Janina Reichert-Toth.

In my opinion, this cemetery is not a special place and I can't find any special atmosphere in it. It may be greener than others but it does not deserve to be remembered ... It is certainly a place covered with a mysterious aura that does not allow to pass by without reflection and reflection on the passing of time and the meaning of our life struggles ... This cemetery is silencing me especially, which is why I particularly like it!
