This building is a former villa of Wilhelm Szomek, which heirs sold to the city. After the reconstruction, from 1981, the Municipal Public Library named after Gregory from Sanok. It is a nice stylish building, which in 1985 was entered into the register of monuments.
Next to the library is a statue of Grzegorz from Sanok, who was versatile and talented; Professor of Roman poetry, teacher of the sons of King Casimir the Jagiellonian, he took priestly light, took part in the Hungarian and Varna expeditions in 1444, he was the Archbishop of Lviv. That is why he is the patron of this library.
