The dove-racing monument in Wleń (Lähn) was created on the 700th anniversary of the city's location. The monument was built in 1914. This date is also on it, as well as the date of the city's foundation in 1214. The monument also commemorates the pigeon fair that was held every year on Ash Wednesday.

The statue-fountain was erected on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the founding of the city in 1914. The main part of the monument presents a figure of a girl with a pigeon on her right shoulder. In this way, the tradition of pigeon markets was commemorated, which since the Middle Ages took place every Ash Wednesday in the city.
