In Łódź at ul. Piotrkowska 111 is a small, nice tenement house, which was originally the property of Lejzer Dawid Rosenthal. It was built around 1890 according to the plans of the architect Ignacy Markiewicz. At the beginning of the 20th century it became the property of Marjem and Abram Dawid Eisner. It is currently the seat of the Honorary Consul of Germany. But let's go back several years. At that time, dr. Seweryn Sterling (born in 1864 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Died in 1932 in Rabka) - the founder of the Łódź phtysiatrical and pulmonological school. Thanks to him, in 1910, the first anti-tuberculosis outpatient clinic was opened in Łódź. He actively participated in many scientific societies. In 1928 he received the title of professor in Wolna Wszechnica Polska. He was the director of the Hospital Poznanski in Lodz, which currently bears his name. Dr. Seweryn Sterling is buried in the Jewish cemetery at ul. Bracka.
