Practically on the outskirts of Malbork, two military cemeteries of the victims of the last war were located. One of them is the Soviet necropolis of soldiers of the Red Army who died during the conquest of Malbork and the surrounding area. On the boards at the entrance there was a list of the buried, the youngest of whom was only 18 years old! Of course, this is nothing extraordinary considering the scope of the hecatomb of the last two world conflicts. However, it is worth to lean on this boy, as well as on each of them, so that the memory of their sacrifice will not be lost. Participation in the war was not a voluntary decision but a necessity resulting from the global whims of the then dictators. It was they who shed the soldier's blood, shredding someone else's life for sick visions and compromised ideas. The soldiers' order of graves placed in regular rows was crowned with a monument in their honor. A modest and seemingly forgotten cemetery is not asked for extraordinary care. However, it requires constant memory, which is needed even if no boy would ever have to die on foreign soil. Nowadays (2018) strange times have come when some victims are more respectful than others, even though they died in the same case. I visited this cemetery and the same neighbor, where mainly British soldiers are buried in prisoner-of-war camps. I bowed my head equally, expressing respect for both. It is just worth it!
