A very interesting historical place in the heart of Gdansk, often overlooked during local trips. I recommend that you read the history of this place

A historical place and pain for some The history of the cemetery A total of 3088 soldiers and civilians were buried in the Soviet Soldiers Cemetery. This number includes 2,525 soldiers who died and died as a result of wounds in the liberation of Gdańsk and immediately after its liberation, 537 prisoners of war and 27 civilians. According to the records at the end of 2008 in the Book buried in the Cemetery of Soviet Soldiers, 1291 buried are soldiers and civilians with a fixed identity. The list of identified dead is constantly growing, based on data provided by the Information and Search Office of the Main Board of the Polish Red Cross, based on information received from the relevant national PCK organizations, most often the Russian Red Cross and the Ukrainian Red Cross. From 1979 to 2009, 433 soldiers were buried in the area of this necropolis. The last determination made is the identification of Soviet soldiers: who died on 23.03.1945 in Owczarnia near Sopot, private Ciewszuka Jakowa Iwanowicz and died on 17.03.1945 from wounds in the region of Gdansk, Sergeant Czernow Jakowa Archipowicz.

War cemetery of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Gdańsk. Several thousand soldiers are buried there. It is worth visiting the place that is a witness to the history of World War II. The facility is well-kept and practically very close to the center of Gdańsk.
