The round stone tower is the Milk Cans Tower (in Polish - Brama Stągiewna, in German - Milchkannentor). This Tower has this name because it looks like a milk can. The gate was built in the early 14th Century as part of the fortifications of the Granary Island.

The gate was built in the 14th Century to guard access to the Granary Island. It consists of two defensive towers connected by an overhead passage. The gate is decorated with two Polish coats of arms. Lovely gothic build worth seeing when in Gdansk.
