The stronghold in Krzeczków was built in the 13th century and probably operated until the middle of the 14th century. Traces of charred wooden structures discovered during excavations may indicate its rapid destruction as a result of fire or invasion. The area of the former stronghold was settled again in the modern period, when a manor house connected with the farm belonging to the Goniądz presbytery was built here. The functioning of this center of church goods is mentioned several times in preserved archival documents from the 17th and 18th centuries. In the State Archives in Bialystok there is a description of "... the church and the Goniądz rectory ...", dated September 20, 1782.
