Beautiful place on the Oder
The former building of the City Library was built in 1888-91 according to the design of Richard Plueddemann in the neo-Gothic style. A characteristic element of the building is a quadrangular clock tower, which is converted into an octagon, which is topped with a spire helmet on a square plan. This was the most modern library in Germany. Currently, the building houses the University Library.
