There is certainly much work to be done. The city has a heart and souls I recently visited Gorzów about 5 years ago and I can certainly see that the city is changing for the better. Lots of nice promenades, you can eat fantastic ice cream or drink coffee.
March 28 is the Pioneer Day of the City of Gorzów. The pioneers were the first settlers who appeared in the city after the fighting ceased - railwaymen, officials, prisoners of the Ravensbruek camp, demobilized soldiers and repatriates from eastern Poland.
In autumn 2006, a monument dedicated to them was unveiled on the Boulevard on the Warta River. The top of the six-meter granite pedestal is crowned by an eagle with outstretched wings. The monument is a fulfillment of many years of attempts to erect an obelisk connected with the Polish period in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
