Like any other cemetery ... Famous people are buried here, including Zbigniew and Maciej Kosycarz. Few people know that in the past the area of the Oliwa cemetery was composed of four completely separate cemeteries: two Catholic and two Evangelical.

Old cemetery located near the Oliwa Park. There are not many old graves but it has its own climate.

The present cemetery was created from the merger of the previous four separate cemeteries: the first Catholic (established in 1832, with an entrance from Czyżewskiego Street), the first Evangelical (established in 1835), the second Catholic (established in 1920, after the first Catholic cemetery was filled) and the second Evangelical ( established in 1920, after the first evangelical cemetery was full) [3]. In 1909 a cemetery chapel was built [4]. Until 1945, Catholic and Evangelical cemeteries functioned as separate necropolises. In 1945 they were taken over by the Catholic Church. In 1947 they were taken over by the City Board, which created one municipal cemetery. The monument is a cemetery, a chapel, a morgue (from the end of the 19th century) and a fence with four gates (leading to the former four separate cemeteries)

Here lies my grandfather. A very atmospheric cemetery. I recommend coming here on the evening of the dead. There are not many people and the candles are making a beautiful aura. The advantage of the cemetery is a large number of trees
