The Palace of the Kujawski Bishops in Wolborz (currently the seat of the RCKU School Complex) is undoubtedly the most magnificent and most valuable monument in the Wolbórz commune. Located in the south-eastern part of Wolborz on the so-called "Biskupia Górka". The current palace was built in 1768-73 by Bishop Antoni Ostrowski according to the design of the outstanding Italian architect Franciszek Placidi, intended for the summer residence of the Kuyavian bishops. It belongs to the finest magnate residences in Poland from the late Baroque period. The complex consists of a palace, two outbuildings, utility rooms, a guardhouse, as well as a parade courtyard and a palace park. From the southwest, the complex was closed with a corrugated iron gate. In the center of this complex is a two-story palace, built on a rectangular plan with three projections with rounded corners in the front facade. On the central, triangular top there is a rococo cartouche from 1773. The Wolborski palace was the seat of the Kuyavian bishops until 1818. Then it was taken over by the Government Commission of the War of the Kingdom of Poland, locating war invalids here in 1834. In later years, the former episcopal residence became barracks for two rot of the Połce infantry regiment (until 1910). This caused a significant devastation of the palace and the park, further deepened by burning it during World War I. In the interwar period, the rebuilt palace (1937) housed a Junkie labor force. In September 1939, the south-eastern outbuilding of the palace burned down. During World War II, the palace was occupied by Germany. After 1945, it was used successively by the University of Life Sciences, the Children's Home and the Pedagogical High School. In the years 1950-61 a general restaurant of the palace was carried out. From 1967, the former residence of the Kuyavian bishops was the seat of the Complex of Agricultural Mechanization Schools in Wolborz. Currently, the palace operates the Agricultural Schools Complex of the Continuing Education Center. In recent years, thanks to the efforts of the school management, the team has undergone many conservation and beauty treatments. In front of the palace there is a monument of the Grunwald deed, unveiled in 1960 on the 550th anniversary of the march of the army of Władysław Jagiełło from Wolborz to the Grunwald battle. 11th June 2010 a new plaque commemorating the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald was placed on it.
