A good place to walk. Only the forest around

The President of the Second Polish Republic, Ignacy Mościcki, visited the Chodzies Land several times during his presidency (1926-1939). The reason for these visits was hunting for wild animals in the beautiful and rich forests of Podanin Forest District. The president came to Chodzież by a special train with an attached salon, and he moved around by car. During a few days stay, he lived in a modest hunting lodge near Nowa Wieś Ujska. The president was often accompanied by his friends - military, scientists, writers, diplomats. Hunting took place in the forests of the current Podanin and Sarbia Forest Districts. In the forest near Budzynia, by the forest road known as the "presidential line", in the place where during the hunts Ignacy Mościcki often held a position, in 1936 an obelisk named "The President's Stone" was erected. The initiators and contractors of this intention were employees of the Podanin Forest District, wishing to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the presidency of Ignacy Mościcki. The place where the President's Stone stands is visited by President Ryszard Kaczorowski during his visit in June 2007. The purpose of this visit was to commemorate his predecessor. In memory of this last visit, the forest path crossed with the Way of President Mościcki was called the Way of President Kaczorowski. The place described above can be reached on foot or by bike: from the No. 11 Poznań - Koszalin road, behind Budzyniem turn into the forest fire route No. 20 and after approx. 2.5 km, at the intersection with the fire road No. 18, turn right and after approx. 0.5 km we reach the place; from the local road Budzyń - Dziewoklucz left, a forest fire route No. 18, after approx. 2 km, we reach the place.
