Biernackiego Street - this new center of Opoczno has already outclassed the old Piotrkowska Street for several decades and is still developing. Through a wide prospect, it leads from the seat of the eldership to ... well, it leads, at least it is very impressive. There is a community center, a swimming pool (or if you like - an aquapark), a district court, two supermarkets and various other things, among others. "Koń" / "Pegaz" / "Hubal's horse" (major H. Dobrzański, as a professional horse rider he had many, and each of them had a name: "Lump", "Qui Vive," "Mumm Extra Dry", "Ixora "," Nothing to do with it, but during the war his mount was "Demon"). Recently, a beautiful "walking and cycling" alley with effective lantern lighting has been created. There is also an outdoor gym. There is a place for various cultural events next to the community center, there is even a parking lot. Importantly - new car parks are located at the junction of Biernacki and Skłodowska, so near the court and the hospital! This is good. Along the alley, exhibitions of photographs and occasional materials are organized. I like the ones about the history of Opoczno, it's an open air museum. Sculptures, especially those made of wood, traditionalist, not to say ethnographic, also look good here. If instead of "booths" there would be fragrant cafes, wine bars and ice cream parlors - you could spend whole days here in spring and summer. As I said at the beginning - the avenue leads from the roundabout to the roundabout, but it functions as a municipal communication route, not a via, so it's good that the syndrome of the "second Augustów" does not threaten this place. Each city can basically have one fashionable fragment that will be considered the center, in Opoczno it is not - in any way the Market Square (Kościuszko Square), it is neither Staromiejska nor Piotrkowska Street, this place has become ul. Biernacki. Edmund Biernacki (1866-1911) - is the patron of the local hospital, a doctor, born in Opoczno and associated with Warsaw and Lviv, a good patron of the street, though probably completely unrecognizable ...
