[BMW 1, rising oil level, failure to detect running timing] Unfortunately, after several visits to this place, I will not decide to visit the workshop again, even for a regular oil change. I have a fairly popular model of the car, BMW E87, with the problem of rising oil level. As far as I did not complain about the oil change (because what can you spoil here ...), the claim that the oil level has increased "only a little" [photos], and this is not a reason to panic (on the dipstick well above the maximum) and my husband was confused and disturbed. Over the past year, this workshop has had the EGR system replaced, DPF cleaned, several sensors replaced, and full oil and filter maintenance performed - so the mechanic had the opportunity to watch, drive and, most importantly, Hear the car at least several times. After another increase in the oil level, I decided to take the car to a specialist exclusively for BMW cars, who immediately, after the sound of the car's operation, diagnosed the immediate need to replace the timing gear, which was already in a deplorable condition! 🤦‍♀️ The mechanic here said that it was just a squeaking belt 😆 ... I rate it as low as possible, because, I wouldn't be angry if the mechanic said that he is not sure about the diagnosis of the fault, he recommends taking the car to another person, more brand oriented etc ... Instead, he claimed that everything was "rather" OK. So is it OK if we take the car to a mechanic, believing that we are dealing with a specialist, and it turns out that he doesn't know much, and what's more - it's hard for him to check the condition of anything, because you have to get somewhere deeper? I realize that I reported one problem (oil), and I did not report the timing, but I'm not the diagnostician, so the only thing I mentioned is the squeaking and strange sound of the car running (yes, yes, it's that flawed "belt", prossszz do not worry ... 😆) I would go again with the same problem, and again I would probably not even get there, because the timing would fail damaging other parts ... I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!
