In Margonin there is a monument to the Fallen for Freedom. The author of the monument is a famous sculptor from Poznań, Jerzy Sobociński. The monument was unveiled by Irena Sobocińska - the artist's wife and mayor of Leszek Łochowicz on January 6, 2009, as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising. Jerzy Sobociński was the creator of many monuments in Greater Poland, including: Bolesław the Brave in Gniezno, the Children of Wrzesnia in Września, and John Paul II in Nowy Tomyśl. Unfortunately, the artist did not live to see his work unveiled in Margonin - he died on November 1, 2008.
