The Jewish cemetery in Märkisch Friedland was established in the 17th century and belongs to the oldest necropolis of the Mosaic faith in Pomerania. The cemetery is located at ul. Cmentarna, next to the Catholic cemetery. There are about 200 gravestones in various statuary at the cemetery, the oldest of which dates back to 1752. In 1983, the necropolis was entered into the register of monuments.

During the heyday of the Jewish community in Märkisch Friedland, it was supposedly one of the largest Jewish cemeteries of the Westpreussen province. Of these times, many remnants of the victims of the Holocaust were not left in Mirosławiec, but the cemetery of the followers of Judaism presents itself quite splendidly against the others. The legibility of establishing the site has been preserved thanks to the solid stone wall and, in some cases, the vicinity of the Christian cemetery. The interior arrangement of the quarters has unfortunately lost its original appearance and today, after crossing the fence, we can at most take a walk in the chaos of greenery and the relics of sepulchral architecture. Several tombstones and elements of tombstones, often described by traditional inscriptions, have survived. Tombstones of people especially deserving of the spiritual and religious sphere of the Jewish community are possible to locate. They are symbolized by the image of the hands joined in a gesture of blessing. Today, the object is protected by law, as a monument entered into the state register. I did not find the presence of rubbish, usually abandoned by local residents in the 'no one's' space. Although there are no spectacular acts of vandalism, some traces of paint spilled by thoughtless perpetrators are visible on some of the matzevot that have been damaged. Perhaps a detailed inventory of the surviving artefacts and regular cleaning of the current state would be useful.
