The work refers to the history of the city. Maybe thanks to him more people will hear about the Podlasie Airplane Factory.
A beautiful mural.
A mural to commemorate the Podlasie Aircraft Factory
In September 1939, PWS 26 planes made liaison and observation flights. After the September Campaign, numerous PWS 26 found themselves in the USSR and Romania, some of which were operated until the end of the war. After the Germans had acquired the Aviation Training Center in Dęblin, 30 were taken over by them,
and then renovated. Two were sent for testing in Germany, the rest were sold to Romania.
The plane on display in the Krakow Museum is one of the two used by the German Luftwaffe. It has the serial number 81-123
and it was built in 1937. In 1945 it was found, along with other wrecks, near Poznań. After repairs at the Regional Aviation Workshops and registration, it flew from November 1949 to December 1953. In 1954, the plane was handed over to the Museum of Technology in Wrocław, where it was shown at the Aviation Exhibition in 1959. In December 1963 it was handed over to the Aviation Museum in Krakow
Very nice performance.
One of the prettiest murals.
