The "Bird's Backyard" is an area with old beeches that are around 167 years old. It is a breeding place of many species of birds, among others: tit, woodpeckers, hoopoe, cuckoo, goldeneye. Starodrzew is located at the forest fire road No. "11" in the area administered by the Sława Śląska Forest District in the "23" branch. In its immediate vicinity, Jodłowski Recreation Routes run: green, red and orange. In this section, they all coincide with the course of the ancient Road of Haymaking (from German Heuweg) leading from Jodłów to the south. The Starodrzew consists primarily of a dozen or so rich, sometimes unfortunately heavily damaged by beech storms. They are almost 200 years old and constitute a nesting place for many species of forest birds. In particular, mention is made of six species of tits, woodpeckers, duds, cuckoos and quick-headed toes. Around the specific leafy oasis stretches the area of ​​pine plantings and numerous self-seedlings of many forest species. Buki, compared to other large trees, are neither long-lived nor durable. Here, some of the old trees, however, stay relatively well. One of the beeches, whose circumference at the height of the breast height is 340 cm. does not show any signs of damage or poor health.
