A tree is not only a source of raw material for the production of goods used by man. It is also a place of living for many living organisms. Birds nest in the canopy of trees. In the hollows carved by woodpeckers, squirrels feeding on the seeds of trees and shrubs have their homes. Wood and leaves are a feeding base for various species of insects. In the burrows, under the roots of fallen and dead trees, foxes and badgers build their homes, among others. On the roots of trees feed insects, which are food for wild boars and moles. Symbiotic fungi coexist with tree roots creating so-called mycorrhizal compounds, which improves the resistance of trees to harmful abiotic factors and supports the process of the plant's absorption of water and mineral salts from the soil.
