Rezerwat Przyrody Łęgi na Ostrowiu Panieńskim

The nature reserve of Łęgi Czarnej Strugi - a forest nature reserve located in the commune of Nieporęt (Mazowieckie Voivodeship) [1], on the Czarna River. The reserve's area almost coincides with the special Natura 2000 habitat protection area: "Łęgi Czarnej Strugi" PLH140009 [2]. The purpose of protection is to preserve a fragment of the natural riparian forests characteristic of the Warsaw Valley [1]. The protection covers the 80-year-old tree stand, which consists of pedunculate elms, ash and alder. In the undergrowth there are plants rarely found near Warsaw: Wawrzynek Werewolf and Dandelion. The reserve is a refuge for birds, wild boars, roe deer and elk. In its area you can also find three rare species of animals: European beaver, fire-bellied toad and crested newt. The area of ​​the reserve is under active protection [4]. Right next to it there is the Puszcza Słupecka reserve.
