The tower has a height of 24 m and, as the name suggests, defended the gate leading to Strzegom. The tower was called "fat and bald giant" because of its unusual shape. It comes from the Middle Ages, the thickness of the walls reaches 1.9 m. From the mid-sixteenth century it served as a prison, and at the end of the eighteenth century it was renamed into a powder magazine.

A lonely tower, part of the old city fortifications of Jawor, guarding a non-existent gate on the road to Strzegom. Not available for sightseeing, but worth seeing from the outside.
