Stronczyński was born in Piotrków on August 25, 1809. The house where he was born, lived and worked is located at ul. Wojska Polskiego 39 (former Bykowska Street) and is located opposite the street named after him. The biography of the jubilarian could serve as the basis for a novel or an epic film. Educated in his hometown, he continued his studies at the University of Warsaw. After the outbreak of the November Uprising, he took an active part in it. Then he worked as a teacher, clerk of the Bank of Poland, referendary, director of the office of the Government Committee for Internal and Spiritual Affairs. He was elected a senator of the Kingdom of Poland. However, his greatest achievements, which so far are a source of knowledge, were related to the position of the chairman of the committee for the inventory of monuments of the Kingdom of Poland. The historian is the author of, among others the five-volume edition of "Description and views of monuments in the Kingdom of Poland" commonly known as "Albums by Stronczyński", "Piast money from the oldest times to 1300: an analysis of contemporary sources and excavations, and a comparison of mint types explained", "Old Polish coins of the Piast and Jagiellonian dynasty" Simultaneously with his official career, he researched Polish antiquities, becoming the precursor of several auxiliary sciences of history in Poland. Buried in the Old Roman Catholic Cemetery in Piotrków Trybunalski: section 47, grave no.127.
