In Polish sightseeing nomenclature, the area was called "Urocczyki". This word describes a place that some associate with some mystery. If you stick to the pre-war nomenclature, the place should be called the Witches' Hills, because in Polish a mountain is something more than a hill that is several meters high. The genesis of the German name, ie Hexen Berge, which appeared on maps from the end of the 19th century, is unfortunately not known to me. The available sources are silent about this. Maybe someone knows why this, and not any other name, hit the maps at some point?
