In the 1930s, while paving a small square, a well and a semi-circular stone bench were erected. It is decorated with a figure of a fisherman wearing a hat, holding a fishing net in his left hand and a fish in the right, also made of stone.
It is a frequently visited tourist attraction, but neglected and polluted.

Pleasantly rustling water.
One source as the date of setting the Fisherman's Monument is reported in 1876. Others indicate that the monument stood in the 1930s when pavement was located on the square between the following streets: Odrzańska, Kościelna and Arciszewskiego. Is it possible that someone from the readers will give a more reliable opinion on this matter?
The attention is primarily drawn to the well with a semicircular stone bench. The figure of a fisherman in long boots and in a characteristic hat is considered to be the decoration of a well. The fisherman holds a fishing net in his left hand and fish in the right hand. This figure is a reference to the history of Nowa Sól - a city associated with the Oder.
The reconstruction of the sculpture, as well as the well (sometimes referred to as a fountain), took place in 2010. Probably at the same time, the stone benches and the front of the house at which it stands are restored.
The Fisherman's Monument in Nowa Sól stands on the square at Odrzańska Street from the 1920s. Once, fishermen lived in this area. A stone figure in a fisherman's hat and high boots holds a net in his left hand, and a fish under his right armpit. In the vicinity of the monument, at ul. Odrzańska, there is a villa in which the owner and founder of the Otos Gurschke Otos Gurschke shipyard lived in the 19th century.
