Great place to rest on the way. Opposite the petrol station at DK 36. At the entrance from Rawicz to Kobylin there is a wooden windmill with characteristic arms that grind the air when the wind blows. Or rather, with their miserable remains, because with them the worst time has been. The facility - once a beautiful symbol of the agricultural commune - requires a thorough renovation. There are small wooden houses around it, you can sit there, on warm days you can see people with bikes who are willing to stop there. There is also a small water reservoir next to the windmill, now overgrown. An employee of the city office, poviat councilor Wiesław Popiołek, recalls the history of the windmill: - Its times go back to 1977, when the central harvest festival was held in Leszno on September 11. The eyes of all Poland were focused on the area of Leszno. At that time, such windmills were built in Kobylin and Pępowo. The one in Stary Kobylin replaced the historic windmill from 1877, which, however, has not lived to see the present day. A new facility was erected on its model. This is indicated by a wooden plaque with a destroyed inscription: Windmill Mikołaj 1877, renovation 1977. The construction of the windmill aroused interest and admiration. It presented itself splendidly, it was the destination of family walks and school trips. Drawing workshops, writing lessons and picnics took place there. The windmill was built on a plot belonging to the Stary Kobylin state farm. When state-owned farms underwent changes, it was purchased by an individual farmer from Czeluścina.
