The "Kornuty" reserve with an area of 11.9 ha. is located in the Magura Wątkowska massif, on the south-western slope of the Kornuty hill (830 m above sea level), in the border area of two villages: Bodaki and Bartne. Picturesque rock formations situated in the ridge part of the massif and the area of an extensive landslide developed within thick-bed sandstones and conglomerates of the Magura layers and the adjacent landslide area are protected here. The rock walls in the reserve stretch for about 800 meters along the south-western edge the Kornut ridge, and their height sometimes reaches 20 meters. Numerous rock forms in the shape of towers, pulpits, clubs or blocks, slabs and rubble have developed here, in which the sandstone shoals are sometimes several meters thick. The sandstone from Wątkowej was used in the 19th and early 20th centuries by the local population as a stonework material.

Majestic boulders covered with vivid green moss and all covered with the colors of autumn leaves. Just autumn in the Low Beskids 😍

The lookout tower is 21m high and reaches above the canopy of tall beech trees. The steps are made of non-slip terrace boards. Convenient! When you go down, you can't see how high you are, so somehow I survived ;-)

A beautiful nature reserve covering the thick-fledged sandstones of the Magura series. The process of "creating" the rocks was a landslide. The rocks are up to 10 m high. As a result of the landslide, one of the most picturesque landscapes of the Polish flysch Carpathians was created. A natural curiosity is the presence of mountain pine, a relic from a cooler climate.

The oldest nature reserve in Magura, geological, protects the Carpathian Primeval Forest along with the Magura sandstone boulders, there are also caves and an accessible nature trail.
