This man was comprehensively talented. He was a carpenter by profession. However, despite his young age (21 years), he was elected to the head of the village of Bistuszowa. Everyone knew his resourcefulness and unprecedented intelligence. He managed the village very well. He took care of its development and residents. Before February 20, 1946, information was received by the mayor of Witalis that the bands of drunken and angry peasants were raging in the area for good. Without waiting for anything, he went with a cart with agricultural products to the manor of the Bossowski family, packed them into a cart and took them to a previously prepared dugout (basement). Then he called the peasants to the court, ordered to roll a barrel of wine, dig a pile of potatoes, whip a pig and feast until dawn. He warned the citizens that they would not harm anyone and defended the town against marauding bands nearby. Later, when he learned that the Rychter family was in danger, he drove up to the court, packed the young men from the same family, and told the peasants that he was taking them to the Tarnów Circuit. Obviously, this was a lie and after leaving the village he let out "caught". After the robbery in Bistuszowa and neighboring towns, there was famine and epidemics (1947). Commune administrator Witalis brought a doctor to his home, to which he brought sick residents. In later years, Michał Witalis's career took on an amazing momentum. The peasantry persuaded the commune head to run for the Galician Seym (he supposedly refused to be very modest in his modesty). In the election, he even won the famous prince Paweł Sanguszka from Tarnów. Michał Witalis held the office for six years. He was a two-time deputy to the Galician Sejm and once to the National Council. It should also be mentioned that until the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries it was the ONLY peasant deputy from the territory of Galicia! Michał Witalis, despite many merits, did not forget about his "small homeland". In the church of St. Catherine in Ryglice founded benches, canopy and figures of the Evangelists. In Bistuszowa, he founded a school and founded a magnificent house chapel. He died in 1867. Until the end he remained a highly respected and known personage.
