It's a really nice place
IT Kowary (01/14/2021)
The most beautiful building in the Old Town of Kowarska has been the Town Hall since its inception. The seat of the municipal authorities was erected according to the design of the famous German architect Christian Schultz in the years 1786-1789. Its historic values and attention to architectural details make it one of the prettiest public buildings in Lower Silesia. It's worth going inside. In the hall of the Town Hall you can admire an interesting polychrome with the coat of arms of Kowary from the time when it became a free royal city thanks to Frederick the Great. However, the most interesting room is on the floor above. The Counselors' Room has an unusual oval shape, and its ceiling depicts allegorical visions of what Kowary has been famous for for centuries - mining, blacksmithing, weaving and tourism. A Tourist Information Center has been opened on the ground floor of the Town Hall for all those who want to learn more about the city. Under normal circumstances, it was possible to visit the Town Hall in Kowary! Unfortunately, as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic prevailing in the country, it is not possible today. The Town Hall is closed to visitors!
