The Lions Fountain is an object located in Poznań, in the Rose Courtyard of the Imperial Castle. It is modeled on the fountain in the 13th-century Courtyard of Lions in the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. This is an excellent example of introducing Moorish imports into the architecture of Central Europe. In the Spanish original, a stone fountains bowl rests on the backs of 12 lions. There are only eight lions in Poznań, but an additional canopy has been added, supported by columns decorated with arabesques, from which the water flows down to the bottom bowl.

It is a pity that such a wonderful place is so deeply hidden in the courtyard. It's fantastically refurbished and looks just brilliant. It is worth enjoying this place because it is a really charming point when visiting.

The fountain brings a unique, southern atmosphere to the city's panorama. One of the prettiest I've ever seen - a valuable reference to the classics.

Almost like the Alhambra :) and seriously renovated. It is a pity that it is so hidden in the castle courtyard and not everyone knows about it :)

It was built at the beginning of the Of the twentieth century, was modeled on the fountain from the Lviv patio in the Alhambra in Grenada from the 13th century. The fountain is supported by eight lions with an additional canopy, supported on Arab columns, from which water flows. One of the most interesting examples of Moorish art.
