I do not recommend. A very chaotic school. In the secretary's office, unpleasant people with an attitude to their parents, "why did you come here?"

The construction of the Ten Years School began on November 11, 1928. The cornerstone was laid on that day. The masonry work began the following year. Necessity, enthusiasm and enthusiasm meant that the construction was almost completed two years later. In the interwar period, there were: Public Primary School No. 1. Public General (Religious) School No. 5, Public Primary School No. 7. Public Special School. In September 1939, a Polish military hospital was established there, and in 1940 a German military hospital. After the Second World War, three schools operated in the Dziesięciolecia building - No. 1, No. 2, No. 4. By the decision of the city authorities and the school inspector in Chełm, Primary School No. 5 was established on October 5, 1946. The first head of the post-war "Five" was Mr. Edward Rollinger. In the school year 1948-1949, the school was managed by Mrs. Maria Dziemiankowa. At that time, electricity was set up in the school and a theater room was arranged. 8 teachers taught. In the years 1949-1962 the school was managed by Mrs. Aniela Germatowa. In the first year of her work, a gym was established, and the number of students was 520. On November 21, 1958, in the hall of the Chełm cinema, the ceremony of giving the school the name of Maria Konopnicka and handing over the flag to the institution was held In the years 1962-1982, that is for 20 years, the school was managed by Mr. Kazimierz Miskur. In 1964 the building was renovated. From September the building was divided vertically (between Primary School No. 1 and Primary School No. 5). the front of the street, a cloakroom was arranged in the rooms, the plowing of floors was removed, school playgrounds were built at the back of the school. During the summer holidays of 1969, another renovation was carried out - the windows were replaced, the classrooms were painted, the roof was repaired. In the school year 1971/1972, specialist laboratories and a common room were established in the school. These innovations made our school one of the best educational institutions not only in the city, but also in the province. From the 1974/1975 school year, "Piątka" became - for a short time - the only school in the Dziesięciolecia building. Thirty years ago, in 1977, a new tenant moved into the school - the Pedagogical Library, which occupied half of the ground floor and functioned until 1993. The results obtained by students, the participation of students in subject competitions, and the work of teachers were highly appreciated by the educational authorities, which established a training school for students of the Teaching College in Chełm in 1978. In the years 1982-1996, the school was managed by the headmaster Ryszard Jakubowicz. In the school year 1982 -1983 640 students, divided into 27 departments and 48 children in two preschool classes, attended the school, and the number of working teachers increased to 48. During the fifteen-year term of director Jakubowicz, significant changes took place in the school. In the school year 1982-1983 he left for a well-deserved retirement Mr. Konstanty Ożóg - long-term deputy headmaster of the school, very liked and respected by students, a parent those teachers. Bożena Świszcz became the new deputy director. In 1990, the 60th anniversary of our school building was celebrated. It was a very important event.

I do not recommend. Some teachers with evident professional burnout follow the opinion of the good educators they were long ago. Lack of motivation to study, no scholarships, grading inconsistent with the school statute. No response to the problems reported by parents. Director not interested in the topic. No e-mail contact, the website does not work as it should. Competitions at school not in accordance with the announced regulations. It gets worse every year. Many parents wonder about taking their children from this non-motivating school. Of course, there are effects, only thanks to parents who work with children, not schools.
