Avoid. I rented a car from Global through DiscoverCars in Gdansk, Poland. I paid upfront for the rental and the supplemental insurance. When I arrived at the airport they told that can not accept my credit card because it didn't have embossed numbers on the front. Then they told that they can only proceed with the rental if I paid for extra insurance provided by Global for a significant additional amount, effectively doubling the cost of the rental. What a fraud!

I was very nervous about using this company after all the terrible reviews below. But they were absolutely fine. The car was good although had a high mileage, but that really was the only tiny thing. On return, they ask you to just leave the keys, but I asked for the car to be checked and my contract concluded. They did this after about a 10 minute wait. For the cheap price, they seem great.

Please beware of Global Rent A Car Krakow. We hired a car for a weekend last month and when we collected the car it had a flat battery. We went straight back to the Global counter, a few mins walk from the car park, but it was already closed. We then spent several hours on the phone to Global, during which they hung up repeatedly, leaving us waiting in a freezing cold car park for them to send a mechanic. They gave the wrong address to the mechanic, so once the mechanic called us to say he arrived, we had to wait again for him to come to the right location. In the end, we didn’t arrive at our destination in Zakopane until after midnight, 5 hours late, so we had to pay a 100zl late fee to the residence owners. When we dropped off the car there was no one to hand the key to, so we made a video of it being left in perfect condition. When we wrote to Global to inquire if we could receive compensation for the costs we incurred, they refused and charged us 1210 PLN for a teeny tiny scratch that we absolutely do not recognise. Avoid this company at all costs. I now see online there are endless reviews accusing them of claims for fictitious scratches. If anyone has any advice on how we can reclaim our losses please let us know!

AVOID! Wish I had read the reviews and not booked with this useless rip off company. Brought the better insurance and they are still saying we have scratched the car and there is a 20cm scratch. Total rubbish. We checked before dropping off. Looking at previous reviews we had the same rubbish car with a faulty tyre. Will use a proper company next time. Already taken the deposit from us, 6 hours after dropping off. Spend the little on a proper company. Obviously this is how they make their money. AVOID

Do not use this company! They try to rip you off on fictitious damages. No help on the phone, they only accept email complaints. This was a painful and expensive lesson!
