Grand Hotel Stamary

We booked romantic stay 28-30.08. Unfortunately I could call our stay everything also then romantic. We got a room with a balcony on 3rd floor facing the road. The noise from outside during the night was impossible to stand, also we could hear people around speaking inside the hotel. Room had no air conditioning, it was not possible to control the temperature inside (outside was about 28 degrees Celsius). Room itself was super old, walls were extremely dirty, mold between shower and tiles. On top of everything room didn’t even had proper curtains, just one big and one small so we could only partially cover the windows. Dirty carpet in the room, walls are begging to be painted. In general our stay was very disappointing, romantic dinner was ok and breakfast as well. I have no clue how this hotel is getting such high ratings from other portals. During check out we were not asked if we liked our stay or not, my husband who doesn’t speak Polish was constantly disregarded by hotel staff and I had to translate everything for him (with exception of spa staff where ladies spoke English) mattress full of hair, cracks in shower fixed with hot glue-ish looking substance. Never again.

Best staff ever! Very polite, they where one step ahead my needs. I am impressed with such high class staff.

This was the second time when we are staying here with my family. We really enjoyed first time so we decided to return within two weeks. First time we had their best apartment as we had a special occasion (409) but this time we went for the regular room and we got (301). The rooms are different it’s needless to say. I’m trying to be honest, the room was ok size and no complaint. The only negative thing was the cleaning. There were finger prints left on the smart phone which the hotel offers and the sofa bed was dirty inside where you keeping the duvets. I would say this hotel should really improve the cleaning and refurb the rooms. Especially now when there is COVID-19 around the cleaning expected to be flawless. I know we are all humans and we do mistakes but two out of two we found something what wasn’t acceptable as a 4 star hotel. Please take this as a suggestive negative review. Except this we were very happy with everything else. Why I’m going to return? - Because of your staff, your biggest asset! We checked in, the same gentleman were there who was last time. No matter what when you are walking through the wall he stands up and bows, just like in the those old English movies. A tiny bit of effort counts a lot! His English is a bit whole but a lots of enthusiasm and politeness! He is my favourite so far! Restaurant were good again! We had the same food. The gentleman was not understanding everything what we exactly meant but no judge very polite and professional person! Thank you very much. We had a room service just before 10pm. We called the reception and they guided us to restaurant. We called them on number 52 if I remember right and ordered some desserts and wine. A blond lady took our order and offered us some wine, the food arrived very quick! She was polite and understood the situation as I didn’t want her to come in our room. Everything was very tasty and the lady was professional! Thank you! On the morning we had some breakfasts and due to COVID there are several who place the chosen food to you plate to minimalise all the contact with food. Good idea but makes it slower! Doesn’t makes me upset as I do understand the situation. The same Lady were there and everything was ok! I wish there were some guacamole and smoked salmon. Maybe more hot vegetarian options as we are vegetarians. Before the departure we experienced the warm hospitality again. There were a new guy at the reception who was very kind and professional! He knew what he is doing and handled very well. I like when professionals knows what they doing and claim it! Overall I really like this hotel and whenever I stay in Zakopane or around , will stay here. There are few things what need to be improved! Cleaning and maybe at checkout the person can ask how did we enjoyed so I could give some feedbacks in person. Bathroom facilities could be refurbed especially around baths, where paint or washers missing between the tiles / discoloured. :) Special thanks to the guy at the swimming pool who looks very friendly and he never let us down! Great stay. We checked in literally last minute. Very clean. 5 minutes walk to Krupowki street. Hotel met our expectations.
