Pastelaria

What a shame! Really good value pastelaria (€1.80 for a tosta mista - cheese and ham toastie) totally ruined by rude service. When I queued to pay at the end and the proprietress proceeded to serve all the people around me, behind me, and even people who walked in after I’d been waiting for several minutes to pay. The food was pretty good and such amazing value (€15.10 for five tostas mista, four coffees and a freshly squeezed orange juice) that I was going to give her my €20 note with a smile and thanks, but when she eventually served me and I asked politely in Portuguese to pay, she wouldn’t look at me and dumped the change in my hand without a smile or even a glance. I’ve never felt less welcome when paying the bill and opted not to leave a 33% tip or ever return.

Had the tuna toast here and then spent 2 days in bed with food poisoning, filthy place. Avoid.
