Fantastic (!!!!) experience!! Fun, no nonsense, help and guidance all the time. Great location and homemade, delicious food served by Ana.
Joao is a true gent, passionate cyclist and mechanic. Highly recommend!!
Highly recommended! A small family owned business that really takes care of you.
We booked a holiday package, and everything else needed to was to arrange flights. João picked us up from the airport, took us to the apartment and back to the airport at the end of our trip. Her sister took care of the breakfast, dinner and drove us up and down the mountains while we explored great trails around the area on our bikes. On the last day even their father came to grill some fish for us, extremely delicious!
The mountains around there are not too steep and the trails are very diverse, so the difficulty level is suitable for lots of riders. Our group consisted from riders with riding experience ranging from 1 to 15 years and everyone enjoyed the experience. João is really a professional in riding, guiding and coaching. He adapted to our different riding levels really well and always took time to show us the difficult sections and offered tips how to ride them. And you could see he was always happy to ride his bike, and always up for a little challenge. :)
All in all we had an amazing time. The apartment even had a garage to store and work on our bikes. One only minus was that the apartment was quite cold, but it's because we were there on the coldest time on the year and most of the year it's really warm and the houses in the area are built accordingly, so pack your warm socks if you are visiting midwinter.
Great mtb holiday experience with decent pricing and excellent service.
Just a dude that invades local trails and takes profit from it and shows no respect for the people who actually put in the work to build them!
Riding with João and his father was amazing.
We got a hint from Weride that we should visit João Gois and his holidays empire. And thanks to that advice we stopped there, what was definitely worth it.
"Theholidaysempire" is a young, small family business for mtb holidays in figueira da foz at the coastline of portugal.
The trails are very diverse and really flowy but also with technical sections, so actually just awesome as they fit everone‘s needs! João built the tracks by his own and he did a really great Job. It‘s a trail network for great enduro fun!
Besides that, João was a really good guide. He always took time to show us the more difficult parts of the tracks so that we could manage everything nice and safe.
But riding with João was even more. It was something like a combination of guiding and coaching, and this on a really high level. He is a awesome rider and his skills and style is mind blowing. One other guide we met on our trip said that he is one of the most talented riders Portugal has to offer... So we honestly think everybody can learn from him. No matter if you‘re a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider.
All in all, it was the combination of good trails, a well organisation, perfect guiding and feeling comfortable and welcome at all times that impressed us of this pretty new family business. It was just great fun! (Beyond that it was so good to see a person riding his bike so joyful, what was really infectious :-D)
So we can abundantly recommend „theholidaysempire“ to everybody who enjoys riding nice tracks with a great guide in a perfect environment.
Thanks to João and his father for the great time! Take care and we‘ll get back one day definitely! Braaap :-)
