It is sad I have to leave a 1-star review despite the delicious food. There was no menu to choose from, the water told us the three options and we verified the prices. During the conversation we revealed we were tourists ... a big mistake we found out! After the delicious meal, we went to pay to the senior gentleman at the case, the waiter (probably his son) whispered something to him and just like that our bill was raised by 25%. We asked how come and the waiter denied the price he told us earlier. The food was excellent. Service fairness: not so much.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in braga. Staff is 5 star and creates the best environment to try finger licking portuguese food. I will come back and would recommend it to anyone

Authentic food, very tasty in a place where locals go for it. A family business, nice service and a very funny guy serving the food. Highly recommend.

Do not let the shabby looks of the place deceive you, Paulo Padeiro is _probably_ one of the best restaurants to eat in the entire region and highly, HIGHLY recommended by locals. Anything you eat here is food imported from heaven, typical Portuguese gastronomy, tender meats, delicious fish dishes (do you hate fish? Come here and you will start loving it), and the desserts will be your ticket to Diabetes type 2. Sure the place looks like a kitchen or a supermarket staff food hall, but here's a pro tourist hint for foreign visitors; every place in Portugal with outstanding food does. Forget the fancy looking or trendy places, you want those hidden gems only found in nooks and crannies off the main streets. The owner is vivid, extrovert and doesn't shut up, so he won't be everyone's cup of tea, but he's loving, charming, and he's all about you, the customer, this man literally takes pleasure in seeing you love the food he placed in front of you. This man also manages some 10 tables by himself at extremely fast and efficient pace without breaking a sweat, it's extraordinary. Ever seen the animated movie 'Ratatuille'? - when the food flavours "explode" and mix in his mouth while he has his eyes closed, that will be you my friend. Visit and find out what real Portuguese food is.
