Worth walking across from historic centre, beautiful architecture

They should forbid cars to go up the streets to Pena etc. In high season it's a nightmare, one massive traffic jam that takes you one hour (!) to get to Pena or Mouros, as the (jam-packed) bus is stuck in bloody traffic and moves 20m every 5 minutes. All those cars have officially broken my balls, ban them already and make the streets (or some) only accessible for public transport and residents! Recommend a tuk tuk. They could be overpriced (I don't know), but at least they're able to move past the cars.

Sintra is blessed with beautiful buildings and properties to visit and explore. One unexpectedly nice find is the City Hall (Camara Municipal) building located just a couple minutes walk from the Sintra Rail Station. Built in the early 20th century by Adas Bermudes on the site of a old chapel, the City Hall building showcases a delightful clock tower with spired roof, green and white tiles and the Portuguese Coat of Arms. The rest of the building displays subtle example of Manueline architecture. There is a small monument in front of the building as well that is interesting to see. Collectively it is a very attractive building and a nice start to days of sightseeing in Sintra. In the end, this not a typical tourist attraction but certainly a place worth spending a few minutes to view upon your arrival in Sintra. You will quickly encounter the City Hall upon leaving the rail station and making your way into the historic city centre on foot. Note: Photos of the clock tower are good from up close but best to stand across the small square and street junction in front of the City Hall if you want photos which capture the entire building.
