Fonte dos Passarinhos

One of the interesting things you can see within the grounds of the Park of Pena is the small Islamic pavilion known as the Fountain of the Small Birds situated between the Hot House and the Valley of the Lakes. This is an 19th century pavilion with an octagonal shape, spherical dome and outer walls are inscribed with arabic. There are gates preventing entrance the pavilion openings but you can look inside the single room structure. There is a garden wall seat just outside the pavilion if you fancy taking a seat in front of this minor attraction at Park of Pena.

A Fonte dos Passarinhos é um encantador pavilhão neo-árabe de planta octogonal. D. Fernando de Saxe-Coburgo-Gotha tinha uma predileção pela arte islâmica, pelo que o pavilhão está revestido, quer interior quer exterioemente, por azulejos de inspiração árabe.
