Fine dining at the Marriott hotel - "Brave new world" - cuisine The Emprata Restaurant at the Marriott Golf Resort Praia d'el Rey offers fresh local produce, creatively crafted to a high level of cuisine. It is one of the few gourmet restaurants in the area of ​​Obidos and Peniche, where mainly traditional fish and grilled dishes are offered in more or less simple pubs. The ambience of the recently completely refurbished hotel restaurant is bistro-style modern and casual. In the evening, the atmospheric lighting with fat-boy table lamps ensures a relaxed dinner experience. The young attentive service acts pleasantly restrained. The offered fish, meat and vegetarian dishes are all made from fresh local produce. We first tried a fish soup with fresh fish from the local coast. The fish and the spices in the soup plate were poured on the table with an intense aromatic fish sauce. The taste of the creamy soup was very good. The fish insert was cooked perfectly and had a firm texture. After that, my wife tried the ceviche of Peniche fish. The ceviche was elaborately prepared, but left a rather soupy impression - here were just too many ingredients on a soup plate, which superimposed the actual taste in the end. A puristic preparation would have liked us better. I chose the variations of spotted Alcobaça pork on sweet potato-apple cream. The pig breed is a breed from the English Yorkshire and Berkshire breeds and the Portuguese Bisaro pig. The meat quality is outstanding: Neck, stomach and filet were cooked perfectly and tasted sensationally good. The back tender and juicy, the belly with crunchy rind and the filet butter tender and pink - in addition a perfectly reduced Jus. Prepared the court was as colorful and filigree as the ceviche. The boss is obviously a big friend of the recently announced "iphone- kitchen" - here food is primarily based on the motto "how can the court as spectacular as possible photos and post in the social media channels" done. So then the excellent meat was meticulously decorated with edible flowers, colorful mini-vegetables, mushrooms and sprouts. An effort that has no influence on the taste and quality of the dish. I am impressed by the artistic design little - good, that could convince me the court by its quality and aromatic preparation. For the future, I recommend the chef to focus on the uncompromising quality of the products: less is more!
