Villa Fornalhas

Booked her for 2 weeks. For the first week we had the pool to ourselves. There is a small bar and a larger restaurant on site that caters for a Friends Association. They do set meals for very reasonable prices and the drinks prices are good too. The staff spoke very little English but we got by. They were helpful and friendly. There is a car park at the rear. The site is in the countryside and so a car is a must really. The apartments are large and clean. The hot water was a bit temperamental as a lot of water wasted before it ran hot. Kitchen has microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer as well as crockery and utensils etc. There is air con in the main room and bedrooms. There are only 5 apartments that are let and so should never be too busy but there would be a shortage of sunbeds should everyone want to use the pool at the same time. The gardens are well maintained and very pretty.

Fantastic self catering apts, in a beautiful setting. You will need transport to get around but if you want piece and quite you won't do better. A great base for cycling in the area.
