Ponte medieval de Paderne

Our walking guide book showed a circular walk around this part of the river but the owner of the watermill at the next river crossing has blocked the path and put up locked gates which seriously degrades the walk and the interest. That said the Bridge is a fine example and while it probably dates from the middle ages, I suspect the Castle is even older.

The bridge looks best from a distance. As it's hidden in the river side shrubbery it's not that impressive from a closer perspective. Worth checking if you hiking around Paderne

It's OK. The walk is nice and the view once you get there.

Very special place. Should be a bit more preserved but still a impressive monument.
