Good food, good service.

Such a shame. It looks so nice inside. We had very slow, almost nonexistent service. Their grilled steak was served with stale Lay's potato chips and creamed spinach as side dishes. Neither of which was good. First of all, bagged chips make a poor side dish unless you order a sandwich or burger but they were literally limp and damp. Also, they sat us at a table with tapas already there but they are not complimentary. I had read a tip that some places trick tourists by doing this. I didn't touch and they removed them. I think that is just tacky.

I looked at the reviews and just had to go. All I can say is we are here in January and of course is the off-season so service was no issue. In fact our waiter Eduardo was a fantastic professional waiter who has been in the business for years. Of course he recommended the top three items which are ox tail stew, Pork cheeks and cod fish. We had the oxtail and pork Cheeks. Some of the very best I’ve had. Yes they charged us for bread and some small plate tapas but that is the name of the game here and they were all wonderful to have. In addition Edoardo gave us a great recommendation on a bottle of wine that was moderately priced and local to the region. This dinner for two was €47 which I think was very fair. I suggest you go but can’t say How busy it might get in the peak season. Please excuse my voice to text errors. And if you receive good service like I did I think a good tip such as 10% is much appreciated and deserved but that is up to you

Perfect feel for Évora. Small place with very good food and reasonable prices. I loved that the owners spoke broken English. Made it more authentic to me.
