São Lourenço Bird Hide

Beautiful place and quiet place too, beautiful houses and gardens to see there..

One of my favourite places! Lovely birds and a raft full of turtles!

Two story bird hide where you can seat (upper floor)and see, depending on the hour of the day and the season, lots of ducks (e.g. mallards, tuffted ducks, pochards, pintails, green-winged teals), coots, grebes, moorhens, eggrets, warblers. With a bit of luck, if you bring binoculars, you can see the crested coot.

Beautiful place to spend some evening time. Could be an option for sunbath.

This is a lovely area to walk and see birds and wildlife that is rarely seen in such abundance. The black headed weaver being one such, the male in its bright yellow gold plumage. The purple breasted swamp hen being another (honestly I didn't make the name up). This time also saw a glossy ibis. Flamingos, ibis, egrets as well as many other birds here.
