Vinho de Talha Natural | Honrado Vineyards

We had an incredible tour and tasting that was so unique! We learned so much about the process of making Tahla wine in giant clay vessels the way the Romans and people from the region have been doing for thousands of years. Honrado Vineyards is a family owned winery and restaurant that carries on these traditional methods of wine-making. Our guide, Claudia, was so helpful, and we learned so much about the culture of Portugal in the process. Apparently a lot of families in the region still make their own Tahla wine to drink with their family! Also, the wine tasting itself was amazing! We tried four wines and along with a whole snack board including fresh bread and jam from their restaurant next door, which we will definitely visit next time we are in the area! The white wine ended up being one of our favorite whites we’ve tried! We usually prefer red wine, but in this process, they actually leave the stems and seeds in during the aging process so it is full of flavor, but still chillable and refreshing. I’m so glad we made time for a winery stop because it ended up being one of the highlights of our whole trip!

Amazing place to visit and learn about the origens of crafted wine. Unbelievable beautiful space with roman architecture. Totally worth the visit!

Best amphora wine I 've ever had!

A really nice place to end the day. There is a great wine and typical food that is freshly prepared. Even if we do not speak Portuguese, we were great and nice served and all explained. We were excited.
