Eira do Serrado / The Nuns path (bottom end)

Path in fairly good condition but relatively monotonous climb insofar as the landscape, as pretty as it is, does not vary from start to finish. Preferably prefer hiking shoes, even light ones, rather than town shoes.

This hike starts either at the top of the hotel and ends at the bottom of the street in the nonnental, or vice versa. Who hikes from the top down to the place: Curral das Freiras can take the bus back up there. Who starts like we and down the same way again, should pay attention that the lower entry / exit has been moved. The old entrance has been closed due to a rock slide. The new entrance is only about 50 meters further down the street! The walk is a bit tedious, as it is constantly uphill. If you want to climb up to the hotel over 400 meters. The path always winds along the mountainside and you get super nice views of the Nonnental and the place: Curral das Freiras. At the top of the hotel you can make another short way up to another vantage point and then have a nice break with drinks and food treat at the hotel with snack / tap.

From the mountain to the valley / church about 75 minutes Nothing for flip flops, u. for Dutchman 😉 On the way no crusaders - great!

Wonderful views of the Valley of the Nuns

Starting with a staircase up, but then becoming a good walking path. Hard to go up, but worth the trip. Midway there is a nice viewpoint
