I was unsure at first because the restaurant was empty and it was nearly 1pm on a Saturday. However, I can recommend this restaurant for the grilled fish (sea bass / robalo) - I think they must get it from a good local supplier, perhaps the same supplier for the fresh fish shop just down the road. My girlfriend (who has lived in Portugal for 20 years) also liked the fish cakes (pataniscas de pescada), which came with nice "home-style" cabbage rice (arroz de grelos). A side of bread and good olives was complimentary. The waiter was reserved but polite. (Para os donos: coloque o nome do restaurante na frente do edificio!)

Super good food for a fair price. I don't understand what the negative reviews are whining about. The salmon and grilled chicken are excellent and I cant wait to try the octupus (polvo lagareiro). The waiters are super friendly and will recognize you when you return. I got some olives on the house, a friendly nice little gesture. To the othe reviewer: you can definitely get cold (or room temperature) water there if you know how to ask. Don't blame your own lack of Portuguese skills on a restaurant in Portugual.

This restaurant was one of the worst restaurants I've eaten in! The calamari came out of a packet, prepackaged rubbish that had no texture or flavour. The garlic prawns were obviously cooked from a frozen supplier and they also were tasteless. They sat in a tray of watery butter with garlic and coriander but were obviously not cooked in the sauce. The prawns could be mashed with a fork because they were so tasteless and soggy. The only saving grace was the octopus. It was delicious but despite the description in the menu, only came with boiled potato, no other vegetables. Staff were unapologetic when questioned about the food quality and taste. Why should they worry, they'll get their money for each plate regardless. Good to know that every restaurant in portugal had to have a complaints book and this is the first time I'll be using it to complain about the quality of the food on offer.

I do not recommend this resturant. When I came here i got the first impression of which this place was not the best. But i ate here anyways. Whenever the waiter came to us asking for drinks I said I wanted still water. Even though I got what I asked for, I surely thought that i would have got it cold. Guess what? Not even cold water. AND half way through the meal, a man came inside trying to sell us gadgets. The workers didnt even care. Even the waiter was at the table the guy went to (checking if the food was good) which it was not. It looked like they paid him to basically steal money from other people... The food was not good at all, If you want real food and food that is typical Portugal, go to a resturant not looking that fancy.

We had to different meals, and none of them were even near what you hope for when eating through the phenomenal Portuguese cousine. Batatas fritas to soggy with oil, bacalhau was a bad piece and grilled to much. Lots of tomato gravy on top instead of beside made it difficult to remove bones even for an experienced cod eater like me. There was grilled plastic attached to the spit of the turkey. We had to complain. Awful. Stay well away!
