We stayed 10 nights at Passaro do Fogo at the beginning of October. The rooms were cosy, clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast and other meals. We could also use a grill on a terrace and taste good Portuguese sausages found in a butchery near by. Trafaria is an interesting little village where one can face ordinary Portuguese people and see everyday life. There are good fish restaurants and bakeries with excellent bread and cakes. We ate quite a few Pastel de Natas – so delicious ! To go to Lisbon it is easiest to take a ferry. There are frequent departures and the journey is nice and easy going. The ferry station on the Lisbon side is close to the famous Belem tower. The city center of Lisbon can then be reached by a tram or a bus. From Trafaria it is a walking distance to a beach (at least 20 kilometers long) starting from Cova do Vapor. The Atlantic ocean with big waves is magnificent. We enjoyed also to see professional fisherman at work. There is a beach closer to Trafaria where we were swimming every morning. On this beach there is, however, some garbage (mainly plastic) but the long beach is very well maintained and really clean. Thanks Katia for making our stay such a pleasant one. We had a very good time 

A truly lovely and very homely little B&B located on a nice distance from the city of Lisboa. Our family consist of 3, but there would easily have been room for one more. To this B&B you can also bring your pets! The fresh bread from the nearby bakery is a lovely bonus our host so generously brought us every other morning even tho she didn't have to because it was not a part of our deal. We enjoyed the summer home ambiance of the place, and the freedom to move around easily. The nights are calm and quiet, the nearby bigger beaches are fantastic in the summer and the small one near the ferry is lovely too! If you want to enjoy the hustle of Lisboa all you have to do is take the ferry and you are straight in the middle of it, the good thing is you get to go back to the B&B and enjoy the silence when you've had enough. There is also a tremendous amount of things to see and do near Trafaria. A warm recommendation from our family!

Nice, but a little bit shabby. Strange host.
