Small simple church beside the castle. It was here that Vasco da Gama received from the bishop of Safim in 1480 the “prima tonsura”. Things to look out for... High altar with tabernacle of the Blessed Sacrament. Images of St. John the Baptist, Our Lady of Grace, St. Catherine and the Lord Jesus of Souls. Main chapel tiles. Ceiling panel, painted by Emmerico Nunes.
